1. Case Studies

One of the best ways that a service provider can achieve credibility and authority, not to mention social proof, is to create case studies from their clients’ successes. A case study is a brief document that describes the problem a specific client or customer was having, how they solved the problem, and what they’re doing now.
The “how they solved the problem” is where your services come in. The focus is, of course, on how your services saved the day. Case studies are solid stand alone documents and can do a great job of marketing your business. However, when combined with a press release that announces the case study, they can be even more powerful.

2. Lead Generation

Create an opt-in offer, one that goes above and beyond and provides a solution for your prospects. For example, if you’re a social media consultant then you might create a video series on how to create a social media profile that can’t be ignored. Use a press release to help you promote your opt-in offer. In the press release, include a link to your opt-in offer so you’re not only promoting the offer, you’re driving traffic directly to it. Press releases can be quite effective at helping you achieve your lead generation goals.

3. New Services or Promotions

Adding a service to your offerings? Write a press release to make the announcement. Combining services or creating a package promotion? Write a press release and make the announcement. For example, a virtual assistant might decide to add eBook editing to their service offerings. They can issue a release to announce the new service and talk about the increasing demand for eBooks to build business. Or they might partner with an eBook cover designer and offer a package promotion to have your eBook edited and a cover created for a discounted price.

And of course a service provider can leverage the holidays, industry news, and recently released studies or research to issue a press release as well. There are numerous opportunities for any type of business to use a press release to market and grow their business. Whether you sell products or services doesn’t make a difference. A well-written press release can be powerful tactic in your marketing strategy.
