Los Angeles, California, September 19, 2017 (Newswire.com) - This Saturday, September 23rd, the nonprofit organization, Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP) will be hosting a free VA housing summit that will educate veterans, reservists and military families on the different financial programs available throughout the Los Angeles area.
California has nation's highest number of veterans, according to the Census Bureau. Many of these veterans can take advantage of VA programs that can get them into a home for less than they pay in rent.
"Los Angeles is an expensive housing market, but for many veterans, their VA benefits can lower those monthly housing costs. At our VA Housing Summit, attendees will learn about some of these VA programs and get personal advice on the VA loan. Most attendees will also leave with a Certificate of Eligibility - the first step in applying for any VA program."

These VA programs can lower property taxes, eliminate mortgage insurance, get them into a home with no money down and even provide money for remodeling a home. Unfortunately, many veterans don't know where to begin or even how to apply.
Free VA Housing Summit - Learn how to use VA benefits to buy a home
Saturday’s VA Housing Summit will educate veterans, reservists and active military families on the various VA programs that can save veterans money on housing, like CalPLUS and the Cal-EEM Grant Program.

Veterans and volunteers from VAREP will also guide families through the home loan pre-approvals application process.
