UK's Fire Protection Online Now Offering Extended Line of Fire Extinguishers

A leading UK retailer of fire blankets, fire extinguishers and other fire protection equipment, Fire Protection Online is announcing an expanded line of fire extinguishers available in their online store.

Fire Protection Online, a leading online UK retailer of fire blankets, first aid kits, smoke detectors, and other fire safety essentials is extending its line of fire extinguishers to include several new models. Among the fire extinguishers available are powder, chemical, foam and CO2 fire extinguishers.

Fire Protection Online now offers several new extinguishers for virtually every type of flame and for every purpose. Several new extinguisher models are now available for Class A fires. Class A blazes are those fueled by materials such as wood, paper, fabric and cloth. FPO offers water extinguishers manufactured by Thomas Glover, and they are BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) certified.

Class B extinguishers offered by Fire Protection Online include carbon dioxide, AFFF foam, and ABC powder extinguisher models. Class B fires are those fueled by flammable liquids including petroleum based liquids, spirits, and diesel. In addition to standard 2, 6, and 9 liter foam extinguishers, FPO now also offers 50 liter and 100 liter extinguishers on wheels. Despite their size, the can be operated by a single user.

For Class C fires, FPO is introducing a line of powder extinguishers, and for Class D fires - propelled by the burning of flammable metals - the M28 and L2 powder models are now available. Laboratories and engineering shops are often required to keep these kinds of extinguishers on the premises.

Finally, for electrical fires, Fire Protection Online has added to its lineup a number of CO2, automatic, and powder extinguishers. Fire Protection Online's automatic fire extinguishers are advanced extinguishers equipped with sensors that allow them to be engaged when no one is present to use them. They can significantly reduce the damages associated with fires and help keep the flames at bay until someone is able to reach the grounds and ensure that the fire is completely extinguished.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies almost every business in the United Kingdom and has been the law since October 2006. This order requires businesses owners and managers to protect the safety of their employees and the general public by supplying enough fire extinguishers to protect the grounds. In additions, owners and managers must also make sure that fire extinguishers are properly maintained and routinely inspected.

In every situation, personnel should be trained in proper fire safety, including the proper methods for using different types of fire extinguishers. If the wrong type of extinguisher is used on a flame, it can actually accelerate the blaze and cause more damage to employees and property.

Fire Protection Online is also recently added a number of first aid kits, fire blankets, smoke alarms and detectors, and fire proof safes to its product lineup.
