Orange County, CA, December 15, 2016 (Newswire.com) - As the cost of a brand new vehicle continues to rise, more and more consumers are turning to used vehicle lots—and the result is a sales spike of potentially historic proportions. Moreover, used cars are selling better and better among those who have good credit. “Everyone is buying used these days, not just those who are in stickier financial situations,” the report says.
As for why used cars are selling so well, Get My Auto says it’s all about value. “The average cost of a new vehicle has never been higher than it is today—more than $30,000,” the company says. “That’s a lot of money, but used vehicles can be purchased for half that, and still offer many years of reliable service. For consumers, it’s a clear matter of value—and used cars are simply superior.”
Get My Auto concludes its report with a prediction that these trends will continue for the foreseeable future. “Not only is 2016 likely to be a record-breaking year, but we believe 2017 will be even better for used vehicle sales,” Get My Auto states. “That’s happy news for used car dealerships and for consumers alike.”
