Dr. Cranford L. Scott Has Been Recognized Among the Top in His Industry by the Expert Network©

The Expert Network celebrates its newest member, Dr. Cranford L. Scott

Dr. Cranford L. Scott, Clinical Professor of Medicine, Keck School of Medicine, USC, has joined The Expert Network, an invitation only service for distinguished professionals. Scott has been chosen as a Distinguished Doctor based on peer reviews and ratings, numerous recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout his career.

Scott outshines others in his field due to his extensive educational background, recognitions, and career longevity. He attended Memphis State University, graduating with his Bachelor’s of Science in 1964. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Tennessee in 1968. He then completed his Internship and Residency at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, with a Residency in Internal Medicine.

"I'm currently doing clinical research and methodological studies on hypertension as well as diabetes. I also get cases that seem to be watched people that there are potential hazards in the workplace. That varies from asbestos to other types of chemical exposure. I've been seeing a lot of toxicology from mold exposure, particularly where people are working in a damp environment."

Cranford L. Scott, M.D., Clinical Professor of Medicine, Keck School of Medicine, USC

With 40 years dedicated to medicine, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his areas of expertise, internal and forensic medicine. When asked what inspired him to go into medicine, Scott said:

"My interest in forensic medicine started when I was child reading history and mystery stories. To me forensic medicine was a career in which I could solve mysteries. I have always liked medicine and I liked the physiology of it, especially the organs of the body. So rather than doing a sub-specialty I decided I'd enjoy internal medicine itself from the point of view of normal organ function as well as the dysfunction of each organ."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Scott has a primary focus on internal medicine and a secondary focus on illnesses and forensic medicine. In particular, Dr. Scott has a special interest in work related injuries due to toxic exposure. His career has remained two-fold: As an Internist, he is currently focusing on clinical research as well as the future of diabetes. On the forensics side, he handles many cases involving potential hazards in the workplace. This includes asbestos exposure, other kinds of chemical exposure, and mold exposure. He noted:

"I'm currently doing clinical research and methodological studies on hypertension as well as diabetes. I also get cases that seem to be watched people that there are potential hazards in the workplace. That varies from asbestos to other types of chemical exposure. I've been seeing a lot of toxicology from mold exposure, particularly where people are working in a damp environment."

Dr. Scott is a member of multiple professional affiliations and societies. He is a member of the American Medical Association, a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a Specialist in clinical hypertension from the American Society of Hypertension, and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at Keck School of Medicine of University of Southern California, where he was awarded as an Outstanding Teacher and continues to teach there today. Previously, he was a member of the American Forensic Society and the Society of Internal Medicine.
