"We're very proud to be part of the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds Knowledge Management solution!"
Bill Kaplan, Founder, Working Knowledge CSP
One of the several knowledge challenges that the KM Framework will address is the challenge of workforce turnover and knowledge loss that the ETF, like many other organization in both the public and private sectors, is confronting. According to Bill Kaplan, Founder of Working KnowledgeCSP, "...effective KM is more important than ever as huge demographic shifts threaten the conservation of both organizational knowledge. Baby boomers are retiring while Generation Y workers, with their tendency to change jobs often and their independent way of working, are coming to dominate the workforce. Add to that challenges like shifts in workforce due to promotion, job transfer, and career change, and the ability to capture, adapt, transfer, and reuse the critical and relevant knowledge of the organization becomes absolutely critical for mission accomplishment and stakeholder satisfaction."
Bill Kaplan, Founder of Working KnowledgeCSP, stated that "It's important for state organizations, and all organizations for that matter, to recognize that the challenge of workforce turnover and knowledge loss will only intensify and the alternative to doing nothing is a critical and negative impact on performance at the individual, team and organization level in support of their constituents. The State of Wisconsin ETF should be commended for their insight to this challenge and the recognition that they can best serve their customers and deliver the value that their customers expect, with an improved ability to find the knowledge ETF needs, when they need it, so they can efficiently and effectively address the concerns of and requests of the ETF customer. We're proud to be part of the solution!"
