To Fight Bullying, Westmoreland County Public Schools Launches Anonymous Alerts®

The launch coincides with National Bullying Prevention Month

Anonymous Alerts anti-bullying and safety reporting app for Westmoreland County Public Schools

Westmoreland County Public Schools has announced a partnership with Anonymous Alerts®, the patented anti-bullying and safety reporting system app. The anonymous 2-way communications™ system empowers students to quickly and anonymously report bullying, cyberbullying, peer pressure, drug/alcohol usage, family issues, or any other student safety concerns to school officials. Through the implementation of Anonymous Alerts®, Westmorland County Public Schools is enhancing their bullying prevention tools and continuing to enforce a safe school climate. The system kicks off on Oct. 23, 2017.

“Our top priority is to promote a positive school climate for students and we feel that Anonymous Alerts helps enhance our bullying prevention initiatives by providing students an outlet to speak up about bullying, self-harm, and other safety concerns to school administration,” said Dr. Michael D. Perry, Superintendent of Westmoreland County Public Schools.

Students, parents, and staff will be able to download the Anonymous Alerts® app, which is available in English and Spanish, for free and gain access with an activation code to place reports to school officials. Students can also access the Anonymous Alerts® online system from the Westmoreland County Public Schools website to send a report. In addition, helpful links and resources regarding bullying, harassment, and mental health are available for students on the app.

“We are excited to help encourage Westmoreland CPS’ students to report bullying; students can change their world by taking a stand against bullying, and taking a stand to help others,” said T. Gregory Bender, President & CEO of Anonymous Alerts, LLC.

The Anonymous Alerts® mobile reporting applications were developed to encourage students to quickly report bullying and other safety concerns on school and college campuses. Bullying, cyberbullying, drug use/dealing, depression, safety threats, and more can all be reported directly to authorized personnel through easy-to-use mobile apps and a hosted website. The mobile apps and systems are completely customizable for each client. Anonymous Alerts® is Patented (U.S. Patent No. 9,071,579) with additional patents pending.
