Anonymous Alerts App Augments New Safety Actions at Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD

District Launches New Anti-Bullying Two-Way Communication App

Anonymous Alerts in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD

The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD (CFBISD), with 25,600 students and 35 schools, has partnered with Anonymous Alerts to bring a state-of-the-art anti-bullying app to the district helping the district to further comply with David’s Law. The beauty of the Anonymous Alerts app is that it goes further than just anti-bullying. Through two-way communication, the app allows students and parents in the school community to anonymously submit alerts about suspicious activity, safety threats, alcohol or drug use, depression, harassment, family issues, school shooter, campus safety concerns and self-harm issues to school administrators or counselors.  School officials then have the opportunity to continue the conversation by using the system’s anonymous 2-way communications® messaging tool.  This will help school officials to better investigate the situation and take appropriate action.

"At Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, we are thrilled to implement the Anonymous Alerts reporting system district-wide as a new safety action for our community.  We have always taken student concerns seriously and with Anonymous Alerts, we are providing our students a new outlet to communicate anonymously and privately with trusted adults," said Dr. John E. Chapman, III, Superintendent of Schools.

Students, parents, and staff members can download the Anonymous Alerts® app for free on Apple and Android and gain access to the service by using a simple activation code that will be provided by the district.  On CFBISD’s website, there will be an Anonymous Alerts® web-button that students, parents, and others can access to send a web-based report.  The web form is available in English, Spanish and a dozen other languages.  Report submitters can provide enhanced information to school officials by attaching a photo, video, or screenshot with their report.  Students will be able to view a “helpful links and resources” section in the mobile app that contains links to informational websites and videos related to cyber-bullying, social and emotional learning, self-harm prevention, and mental health self-help content. The system will be monitored during the school year.

“We are excited to get started with CFBISD and expand our footprint in the Dallas Area with such a prestigious school district,” said T. Gregory Bender, President & CEO of Anonymous Alerts, LLC.
