With 9 years dedicated to the mortgage industry, Mr. Kilakos brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry. After working as a stockbroker and in the information technology industry for several years, he transitioned to mortgages in 2007. When asked what inspired this decision, Mr. Kilakos said:

"Really, I've always been a believer in real estate. When I was a stockbroker, I would have clients coming in asking me how they should invest $100,000. I wanted to shake them and say ‘buy real estate!’ But obviously I wasn't able to without the proper license. Finally, I switched over to something that I believed in more than the mutual funds and stocks. So it was a kind personal decision to not be a hypocrite to my clients."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Mr. Kilakos is widely considered one of the foremost intellectual authorities on mortgages and real estate. Dedicated to sharing his knowledge with a wider audience, Mr. Kilakos hosts a radio show, “The Real Estate Show”, on CJAD 800AM where he offers his expert perspective on prevailing trends in the industry and in the market. Mr. Kilakos has served as the President of North East Mortgages since 2011. He previously was a Mortgage Broker with Multi-Prets Hypotheques. He also regularly volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, where he served as Director for their Québec chapter from 2011 to 2012.

Mr. Kilakos is a member of the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals and the Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ). He has served as the Commissioner for Oaths for Québec and for Outside Québec on behalf of the Québec Ministry of Justice.
