Singapore Wins World Singing Championship Title

Fairus Adam is the first Singaporean to win the Karaoke World Championship Title

History was made last 22 November as the first ever Singaporean wins the 2015 male champion title of Karaoke World Championships (KWC) – the largest amateur singing competition with over 30 countries participating. 32 year old teacher Muhammad Fairus Bin Adam is now the male Karaoke World Champion. Female KWC 2015 champion is Elsaida Alerta from Canada.

On its 13th year, KWC held the international finals night on 22 November at Queen, Orchard Plaza in host country Singapore, which culminates a 3-day, 4-round competition with 30+ countries sending their best amateur singers.

Karaoke World Championships (KWC) is an international brand from Finland and it is the biggest amateur singing competition in the world. National trials are conducted in each country with the winners competing in the annual international finals. This year, Singapore hosts the world finals in conjunction with SG50 celebrating the nation’s 50th anniversary.  Next year’s KWC host country Canada will welcome Adam who will fly to Vancouver for the 2016 World Finals as part of his prize package which includes $5000 cash and trophy.

The KWC Finals hosted by Singapore is made possible with the support KWC Asia partners Draft Denmark, Cash Studio, DigiMC and Japan’s largest karaoke manufacturer DAM.
