Karaoke World Championships (KWC) is an international brand originating from Finland and it is the biggest amateur singing competition in the world. National trials are conducted in each country with the winners competing in the International finals. Last year, Singapore hosted the International Finals with over 30 countries participating, in conjunction with SG50 celebrating the nation’s 50th anniversary. Reigning Male Karaoke World Champion is Singaporean Fairus Adam.

The Singapore auditions will start in March, with grand finals set for September 2016. The winners will represent Singapore in the Asia finals to be held in Macau in October, and the World finals in Vancouver, Canada in November. Prizes for the winners include all expense paid trip to the finals venue, cash, trophies, recording contract and the chance to tour key cities in the region in roadshow concerts.
