Silicon Harlem today announced the appointment of Gary Alexander Jenkins[, Esq., as General Counsel. Jenkins is the first General Counsel for the company and will join Silicon Harlem on April 1, 2018.

Reporting to Silicon Harlem CEO Clayton Banks, Jenkins will assume responsibility for the company’s global legal affairs, public policy interests and compliance operations. With more than 25 years of corporate legal experience spanning the film, music and television industries, Jenkins brings diverse perspectives and complementary sector knowledge to Silicon Harlem’s executive team during a critical phase of growth for the company. Silicon Harlem continues to establish, refine and expand its programs to bring technology access and opportunities to Upper Manhattan and other global communities, partnering with public sector leaders and private sector organizations.

Gary Jenkins' background spans a broad range of legal expertise and professional networks and he has extensive experience working with both established and early-stage growth companies. Jenkins joins Silicon Harlem from the music, television and film industries. He has served as General Manager Emeritus of Uptown/MCA, which brought to market platinum selling icons Guy, Mary J.Blige, and Jodeci. Jenkins has represented and served as counsel for successful artists, producers, songwriters and record labels such as French Montana, The Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, Doug E. Fresh, Kool G Rap, The Late Jam Master Jay, The Russell Simmons Music Group, DMX, and Ralph Tresvant. Jenkins also represented the team behind "The Reunion," an acclaimed independent film that was selected to premiere at the 2016 Martha's Vineyard Black Film Festival.

Mr. Jenkins clerked for the late Bernard Fuchs, Supreme Court Judge of Brooklyn in Kings County. Jenkins earned a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. in Psychology from Princeton University. He is a member of the State Bar of New York.
