Sherpa Digital Media, developer of leading video management and streaming solutions for enterprise communication and marketing, today announced the general release of the next iteration of its Sherpa Stream platform. This release includes advanced video security offerings, such as personalized digital video watermarking and threat prevention, as well as extended productivity tools and engagement analytics that enable producers and business units to more efficiently share and measure success of their video content.

In this latest major release, its platform runs faster and offers simplified workflows for video authors to create, host and share live and on-demand content to public and private audiences. Video loading times and platform performance have been optimized, and new productivity tools for sorting, organizing and categorizing assets have been added to enable users to create and promote content more quickly and intuitively. Additionally, this release brings new analytics to the forefront of the console, which includes data points around view counts over time, engagement and performance by asset type.

Today's major release delivers advanced tools to promote an even higher level of streaming efficiency and security that our industry-leading customers have come to expect from us.

This release also brings advanced security measures into the Sherpa Stream platform aimed at further managing access to and protecting sensitive private content. Some of the security-related features that have been implemented include:

  • Personalized Digital Watermarking: Superimposes visible and non-visible watermarks on a video that is customized per viewer based on personally identifiable information. With this patent-pending capability, a leaked or stolen video can be traced back with the watermark to the point of origin and disciplinary action can be taken.

  • Threat-Prevention System: Automatically prevents unauthorized “bad-actors” from gaining access to sensitive video content.
  •  Social Network Usage Prevention: Prevents internal and external viewers from being logged into social network accounts while viewing the video to eliminate illegal sharing with public audiences.

“Video is now pervasive for go-to-market and internal communications,” says Sherpa CEO K.C. Watson. “We originally set out to build a modern platform to manage an enterprise’s burgeoning video inventories while also maximizing content impact and return. Today’s major release delivers advanced tools to promote an even higher level of streaming efficiency and security that our industry-leading customers have come to expect from us.”

“Concern over corporate asset security continues to rise on an almost daily basis, shaping all that we do,” says Mark Strathdee, CTO for Sherpa. “We know that having control over who accesses a customer’s sensitive content is of paramount importance, so we’ve released significant advanced stream security measures to keep valued video assets from falling into the wrong hands.”
