He earned his Bachelor's of Science from the University of Maryland in College Park. He then went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at the American University, Washington College of Law in 1967, and receive his certification as a Family Law Arbitrator from the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Among numerous other honors, he has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Top Rated Family Law Attorney for the years of 2007-2017, and Maryland Super Lawyers, from 2008-2017.

"I think there's a trend toward seeing younger people entering into prenuptial agreements. I also see an increase in the number of postnuptial agreements, where people enter into dispositions of their income, property, and assets during their marriage or in the event of death or divorce. These are things they want to have, even when they're not getting a divorce. If they ever get a divorce, they don't want to have a fight about it."

With half a century dedicated to law, Mr. Ogens brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry and in particular to his area of specialization, family law. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in law, Mr. Ogens said:

"I knew a number of lawyers while I was in college and I thought well of them. When I interacted with them, I liked what they had to say about practicing law and it seemed to be the right direction for me."

As a thought-leader in his field, Mr. Ogens keeps his finger on the pulse of developments in the field of Family Law, seeking to recognize patterns and trends with an eye toward better serving his clients. He noted:

Mr. Ogens is a member of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, the Maryland State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Montgomery County Government Ethics Commission. Ronald is also a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Montgomery and a public member and chair of the County Fire and Emergency Services Commission.
