Rivers Expeditions Is Excited to Celebrate West Virginia Day with Great Discounts on Whitewater Rafting.
Online, June 2, 2014 (Newswire.com) - In 1863, West Virginia officially became a separate and independent state on the 20th of June! In 2014, River Expeditions will celebrate this important milestone in West Virginia history by offering $18.63 off the normal pricing - but for one day only; June 20th!
The New River features white water rafting, scenic floats, fishing, kayaks and so much more! The two distinct sections of the river allow two very different trips to be available; one that is great for beginners (the Upper New River), and one that will satisfy even veteran rafters (the Lower New River). These two different rivers offer a huge variation in trips, but they do hold some characteristics in common. On both rivers, guests can be sure to experience the true beauty and nature that attracted West Virginia's forefathers many, many years ago. And what better way to celebrate their explorations, by following the same paths that so many people have traveled down before? "The anniversary of West Virginia's 'birthday' is a great chance to experience the cool water of the New River, with a great discount to make things a little sweeter. Plus, there are so many local activities going on, that there is sure to be something for everyone." explains River Expeditions Owner, Rick Johnson. "June is one of the best times to visit too - the water temperature is perfect for a day of rafting!"
Whitewater rafting consists of traveling down a stretch of river on an inflatable raft. Trips generally last about 5-7 hours, including a waterside break for lunch. On some of our quieter stretches of water, no experience is necessary; but more intense stretches are also available for the experienced rafter. The ability to swim is helpful, but not required, as all guests are provided with a Coast Guard approved Type V Life Jacket, Paddle, and Helmet.
