North Ambergris Caye Real Estate About to Appreciate with New Road.
Online, May 16, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Residents and visitors alike are celebrating the commencement of paving the road through the popular beach and resort area north of the Barry Bowen Bridge. It is the first phase of infrastructural road improvement under a $3 million cooperative sponsorship by the San Pedro Town Council and the Government of Belize. From the Paradise Theater, past Reef Village, and up through the Tres Cocos area, concrete pavement will be applied beginning at the end of May, initially proceeding three miles north, approximately to the Grand Caribe Resort. Many private homes, rental villas, beachfront resorts, restaurants, and lagoon-side properties dot the picturesque northern part of Ambergris Caye, Belize's most vibrant island. For many years hardy golf cart drivers and bicyclists have endured bumpy trips and splashing puddles. The second phase of road pavement will continue north four more miles, to the X'tan Ha Resort neighborhood, near the popular snorkel and SCUBA area called Mexico Rocks.
The Mayor of San Pedro, Danny Guerrero, confirms the plans, stating, "This will improve the tourism product on northern Ambergris Caye and even possibly increase the value of real estate." There is much Belize real estate still to be developed in northern Ambergris Caye, the top 20 miles of La Isla Bonita's total 27-mile long length. Both sides of the island offer panoramic water views, with dense mangrove bordering lagoon views to the west side and the beautiful Belize Barrier Reef protecting the white sand beachfront of the east. Resorts, homes, and villas are available for rental or purchase, from turn-key readiness with on-site management to independent ownership. Plenty of undeveloped lots are also available for those who wish to design their own piece of paradise from the sand up. A local Coldwell Banker representative knows the lay of the land north of the bridge and can explain the variety of opportunities to secure a home or vacation spot along the new paved road.
The San Pedro Town Council has shown much more attention to the road north of the bridge during the past year. Over 40 barges of hardcore—rocks with crushed limestone—have been delivered to even and raise island roads both north and south of the Boca del Rio canal cut. Drivers, riders, and walkers have all benefited from the application of tons of crushed rock to traditionally soggy roadways and paths. The pavement of the main north road makes this a dynamic time to become a property owner in Belize, the choice of so many who know what an island jewel Ambergris Caye is. It is high time to hit the road to your Coldwell Banker Belize real estate professional!
