Nopajuk Meesom And Jamnian Chitprasong Are Jointly Leading The 1-Day-Tour Championships.
Online, September 11, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Artitaya Golf and Resort, 12:00 noon - Shotgun start. A total of 118 players showed up this Friday to start the first of a total of 6 matches to the championship of the 1-day-tour, which is still not branded and the Thailand Senior Professional Golfers Association or THSPGA is actively looking for sponsors. The format is more relaxed then the big matches, but it still remains a professional golf tournament and after the players came in to the clubhouse both Nopajuk and Jamnian produced a net score of 5 under par. To make the race more exciting, the officials at the Thai Senior PGA have decided to use a (reverse) handicap system to give more chances to the lower ranked players. In this system the players ranked 1-10 will get 3 strokes added to their final score. Likewise, the players ranked 11-20 and 21-30 will get 2 and 1 strokes added to their final scores. It was raining heavily 1 hour prior to the tournament start and the heavy rain took his toll in form of very slow green, which made it very difficult for many of the pro's, as they are used to much faster greens. Anyhow, the Artitaya golf course on the road to Nakhon Nayok (Klong 13) is worth a journey will certainly find the attention of maybe Golfers in Bangkok and surrounding areas.
