Jamnian Chitprasong Wins The AIT-CISCO "Think Green" 2010 After A Fascinating 11 Under Par

The Vintage Club, one of Bangkok's best golf courses hosted the AIT-CISCO Senior PGA tournament, which was sponsored by AIT and CISCO. The final results are: Jamnian Chitprasong 1st place at 11 under par, Nopajuk Meesom 2nd place at 9 under par

The Vintage Club, one of Bangkok's best golf courses hosted the AIT-CISCO "Think Green" 2010 senior professional golf tournament already for the second time and like last year the course was in great condition. Nationwide flooding was a big concern during the event, but the drainage worked extremely well, especially after very heavy downpours after the first day of the event.

The Thai Seniors Professional Golfers Association, who was the organizer of this event, introduced a slightly modified format to its tour. Under the new format the Super Seniors, which comprises all professional golfers aged 60 and above, had their own day of competition prior to the main event. Traditionally, the Super Seniors played on the last day, after the main event had finished.
The new format was greatly appreciated by both, the players and the golf course. Under the new format the golf course was only closed for two full days and two half days instead of three full days, which also allows the members of the golf course to play in the afternoon and enjoy playing under tournament conditions.
The Super Senior event was won by Amnart Kerdkrasin and a solid 1 under par. He was followed by Prachuab Subcharoen at 1 over par. The third place saw a tie of Arjin Sophon and Warin Suppawibul , both at 2 over par.

The main event, with a total purse of 1.5 Million Thai Baht, started on Wednesday at 06:30 in the morning and saw some great golf. After day one the field was headed up by Chucheep Nirun and Nopajuk Meeson, both a three under par for the day.

Jamnian was only at even par and tied for the six place. After day 2 already Jamnian was leading the pack after playing 6 under par for the day. He was followed by Nopajuk Meeson and Chucheep Nirat both at 5 under par and the bar was set high prior to the last day.
On the last day, the two followers pulled in good solid scores of two and four under par, but did not manage to beat Jamnian. Jamnian concluded the last day with a birdie at the 18th to finish 5 under for the day, which left him with 11 under par for the tournament, a comfortable lead of two strokes. The final results are: Jamnian Chitprasong 1st place at 11 under par, Nopajuk Meesom 2nd place at 9 under par and Chucheep Nirun at 7 under par.

Most of the tournaments off the 2010/2011 tour are under the theme of "Think Green". When many people hear the term "green" the first thing they think of is taking drastic measures to "save the environment." In reality, however, thinking green often just means making small changes to prevent wasted energy or taking care of a cleaner and with that healthier environment. Thinking green is very easy to do in everyday life without having to make any drastic changes or cause hardships. The Thailand Senior PGA, under the "Think Green" motto, encourages all members and caddies to help maintain our environment and "Think Green".

The AIT-CISCO "Think Green" 2010 was mainly sponsored by Advanced Information Technology Public Company Limited (AIT) and Cisco Systems. Further sponsors include The Vintage Club and Thai Bev.
