New Circuit Seed Invention Will Literally Transform Mixed Signal Analog for the $14.9B U.S. Sensor Market

Circuit Seed's building block technology will dramatically enhance the performance of all current and next generation sensors by providing greater sensitivity and lower power consumption, and offering significant size reduction.

Greg Waite, CEO of InventionShare™, announced today that Circuit Seed™, a new family of circuit building blocks for processing analog signals using fully digital components will literally transform the $14.9 billion U.S. sensor market.

Speaking from the company’s Ottawa office, Mr. Waite said that Circuit Seed's building block technology will dramatically enhance the performance of all current and next generation sensors by providing greater sensitivity and lower power consumption, and offering significant size reduction.

"Circuit Seed provides the opportunity for extended range, faster processing, better resolution, enhanced audio fidelity, reduced foot print, better signal reception, increased sensitivity, improved accuracy, and enhanced touch interaction. It can free up space for additional sensors, lower power consumption and, importantly, provide the inherent ability to extend battery life."

Greg Waite , CEO

Mr. Waite said, “Cisco, which terms the “Internet of Things” “The Internet of Everything,” (IoE) predicts that 50 billion devices (including our smartphones, appliances, and office equipment) will be wirelessly connected to the internet via a network of sensors by 2020 and that the IoE  market will be valued at $4.6 trillion in the next few years.  We expect that Circuit Seed will make a significant impact here and help to, literally, transform circuit designs for sensors and new product developments and legacy retrofits within this marketplace. “

Mr. Waite said that mobility, accuracy, speed and battery life are some of the key drivers of Circuit Seed's family of circuit inventions which will provide unique application opportunities for sensor designers and manufacturers. Circuit Seed provides the opportunity for extended range, faster processing, better resolution, enhanced audio fidelity, reduced foot print, better signal reception, increased sensitivity, improved accuracy, and enhanced touch interaction. It can free up space for additional sensors, lower power consumption and, importantly, provide the inherent ability to extend battery life.

Mr. Waite said, “We have an opportunity to work with manufacturers of devices at either the manufacturer level and through to their supply chain, or directly with sensor manufacturers. The primary challenge for making a better product is reducing the analog footprint while providing superior analog functionality. We have broken Moore’s law. This is not evolution, this is revolution and a transformation allowing for development of new types of sensor designs using Circuit Seed as a building block. The key to the sensor market is real time high speed wireless communications - and beyond the sensor functionality we also bring the benefit of low noise amplification over large distances.”

Circuit Seed inventions are founded on a mixture of decades of experience and creativity, supported by a robust portfolio of IP. Circuit Seed introduces a dramatic shift in the existing way of designing analog circuits, effectively eliminating many of the known shortcomings. Benefits include:  unprecedented precision without precision parts; ultra-linear operation over an extreme dynamic range (>106); low noise, ultrahigh speed (analog at logic speed) and extreme low voltage (down to ~0.1V power supply); process parameter independence; compact footprint (amplifiers about the size of a couple of NAND gates); low power (~100uW for multi-GHz-range operation down to 10pW for KHz-range operation); and portable designs between ultra-deep sub-µm CMOS technology process nodes. This paradigm shift has eliminated the use of current mirrors or differential matched pairs with traditional bulky analog transistors while being able to recover from sleep mode at logic speed.

Simulation and silicon test results have demonstrated a dramatic reduction in power, better performance and higher accuracy, all with small integrated circuit footprints. The circuit designs are much simpler, reducing product costs with faster development, so less testing is required and there are fewer parts to assemble. These circuits are far more reliable in the newest CMOS processes, making Circuit Seed a real step forward for all companies requiring digital circuits processing analog signals.

Mr. Waite said that Circuit Seed provides significant breakthroughs for mechanical sensors, digital sensors, optical sensors, optical fiber sensors, temperature sensors, pressure sensors and transducers,  acoustic and ultrasonic sensors, reflectometry sensors, humidity sensors, gas sensors, frequency output sensors, rotational speed sensors, chemical sensors, film-based sensors, biosensors, inertial sensors, gyroscopic sensors, capillary sensors, silicon-based sensors, textile-based sensors and more.

InventionShare is now looking for strategic partners who want to incorporate Circuit Seed technology into device and product offerings, with the benefit of leveraging market share and profitability through competitive feature sets and design and manufacturing advantages leading to the next generation of  "internet of everything” future devices.
