Nautic Alert Tender Watch™ Helps Prevent Loss of a Yacht's Tender While Under Tow

Yacht pulling tender

Market Spectrum Inc. has launched Nautic Alert Tender Watch™ to monitor a yacht’s tender under tow.

When a tender breaks away under tow, service and support for passengers and crew are interrupted, resulting in possible loss of the yacht’s tender at sea.

Tender Watch delivers instant, unexpected disconnect alerts at the bridge and remotely using the Nautic Alert platform. This enables the captain to monitor tender vitals, including bilge, batteries and security.

Tender Watch establishes a dynamic geofence ascertaining the location of the yacht and tender in one view using bi-directional communication through a secured wireless personal data network between the yacht and the tender. If the tender goes out of the wireless personal network range, the yacht and tender will communicate coordinates via Nautic Alert's Cloud using the Iridium global satellite network to maintain real-time location reports.

“Tenders unexpectedly disconnect all the time,” said Nick Velado, vice president of engineering for Nautic Alert. “In one case, it happened twice to the crew of a particular Westport 130. After the second occurrence, the insurance underwriter asked Nautic Alert for an innovative solution to prevent sizable claims like this common scenario.”

Nautic Alert is the first boat and yacht security system to feature radar, microwave and FLIR-based thermal perimeter protection for the ultimate intrusion detection solution on the market. Nautic Alert technology is built for demanding marine environments, using the most reliable marine-grade technology available. 3D microwave motion detects intruders on the deck before they board while ignoring dock movement. FLIR technology intelligently detects humans within very precise boundaries for the most advanced protection of high-value outboards and electronics.
