Nature Box: Smart, Simple, Renewable Indoor Garden

From the minds of botanist and food scientists Sasa C. and Fan W. of Eco Studio, comes the Nature Box - The Smart, Simple and Renewable Indoor Garden that allows users to grow herbs and spices year-round in their homes.

The project aims to bring an indoor garden for year-round growing of spices, herbs, greens and ornamental flowers to consumers. Nature Box offers an automated system which both waters the garden and turns the lights on for 16 hours (the optimal amount for sustained plant growth) and shuts them off for eight without any interaction or prompts from the user - all customers have to do is refill the water tank every few weeks. Its most remarkable addition is the soilless nutritional substrate which is made from coconut fiber and packed with formulated, slow-releasing plant nutrition, making the overall cost not only less messy for users but also making it more affordable.

The Nature Box arrives with three seed packs (which are already planted in the substrate) so users can start growing right away, and different varieties of plants, herbs and spices can be purchased in separate Refill Packs and changed out at a moment's notice to give customers variety year-round. These seeds are all selected to be non-GMO, herbicide- and pesticide-free, and organic to provide a fresh taste.

The Nature Box just launched for crowdfunding, so those interested can head over to their campaign page on Indiegogo to find out more or back them to start growing personal indoor herb gardens with an automated smart device.
