The Expert Network© celebrates its newest member, Mary Ann Lober

Mary Ann Lober, REALTOR®, ReeceNichols, has joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. Ms. Lober has been chosen as a Distinguished Real Estate Professional™ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.

Ms. Lober outshines others in her field due to her numerous awards and recognitions, and outstanding customer service. She studied accounting at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and went straight into homebuilding as the co-owner at Lober Homes, Inc. where she experienced all aspects of the business, from accounting to construction site management. In 1995, she started her own construction company named Regency Homes, Inc., which she ran for seven years before deciding to become a realtor. Ms. Loberhas since been the recipient of many awards, including the Kansas City Five Star Home Professional Award, ReeceNichols Chairman’s Circle Annual Agent Recognition, the American Dream Award, and a feature in Featured Agent Magazine (November 2016 Issue) and Top Agent Magazine (2014), among other accolades.

"I try to balance new construction and resale. We are dealing with a severe labor shortage, and don't see any relief in sight. We're looking at the prices continuing to go up. It's good news for the people that own, but it seems like it's going to cost more and more to build these new houses. I believe we're going to see real estate continue to appreciate in a big way. I see prices going up in new construction faster than in resale, and it'll bring the resale up along with it because that's the alternative."

With over 30 years of experience, Ms. Lober brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry, and, in particular, to her area of expertise, providing industry-leading service to buyers and sellers of residential property across the greater Kansas City area. When asked why she decided to pursue a career in real estate, Ms. Lober said:

"After eighteen years as a contractor, I felt like it was time for a change, so I started selling real estate. I enjoyed contracting, but I have to say this is a really good fit for me and I truly enjoy what I do every day. It's a lot more fun than building houses because I get to work with more people and less with nuts and bolts. However, that experience is valuable to my buyers and sellers. I feel like I'm still working as a contractor because it seems like there are always things that need tending to at sale time, such as new roofing, foundation, wood-rot, and many other inspection-related issues."

Using the invaluable she skills gained in nearly two decades in contracting, Ms. Lober enjoys the change of pace that comes with being a realtor. As a Kansas City native, her familiarity with the local market and it’s clients have earned her a respected reputation in both Missouri and Kansas, including the communities of Kansas City, Parkville, Liberty, Platte City, Lee Summit, Prairie Village, and Lenexa.

As a thought-leader in her industry, Ms. Lober stays on top of developments in the local market to guarantee the most informed and professional service for her clients. In particular, she has been paying close attention to the increase in construction that will be taking place in the undeveloped farmlands in northern Missouri in the next few years. Looking to stay ahead of the curve, Ms. Lober notes the challenges this has created in the form of labor shortage amid growing prices:

"I try to balance new construction and resale. We are dealing with a severe labor shortage, and don't see any relief in sight. We're looking at the prices continuing to go up. It's good news for the people that own, but it seems like it's going to cost more and more to build these new houses. I believe we're going to see real estate continue to appreciate in a big way. I see prices going up in new construction faster than in resale, and it'll bring the resale up along with it because that's the alternative."
