Marnie Bennett Has Been Recognized Among the Top in Her Industry by the Expert Network©

The Expert Network© celebrates its newest member, Marnie Bennett

Marnie Bennett, Broker & CEO of Bennett Property Shop Realty, has joined The Expert Network©, an invitation-only service for distinguished professionals. Ms. Bennett has been chosen as a Distinguished Real Estate Professional™ based on peer reviews and ratings, dozens of recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.

Ms. Bennett outshines others in her field due to her numerous awards and recognitions, outstanding customer service, and career longevity. Her work has been widely lauded by numerous organizations, including Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate, and the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, and has garnered over twenty awards for marketing excellence from the Ottawa-Carleton Home Builders Association. In 2008, Ms. Bennett was recognized by the Ottawa Women’s Business Network as the "Businesswoman of the Year," and in addition, Ms. Bennett and her team received the "Exceptional Customer Service and Marketplace Trust" award from the Ottawa Better Business Bureau. In 2010, she became the first woman to achieve the position of "#1 Broker Worldwide" for Keller Williams Realty International, the largest brokerage on the planet; and she repeated that accomplishment in 2011!

"'Gen Y' is the next biggest buying cohort, and that groups tends to want smaller homes (than did the Boomers), and a 'low maintenance lifestyle'. As a consequence, we're starting to see a boom in demand for condominium-style housing and townhouses, with all the amenities of multi-million dollar homes—but with less maintenance than what the Boomers wanted or accepted. It clear to me that nowadays, people simply don't want to be 'married to their homes'. Instead, they want to have more down-time and more family-time and less 'up-keep' time."

With over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, Ms. Bennett brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry, and, in particular, to her area of expertise, providing top-line service in residential, new-home development, high-rise, luxury, and resort real estate development projects to clients across the thriving neighborhoods of Ottawa, including New Edinburgh, Westboro, the Glebe, Barrhaven, Alta Vista, Old Ottawa South, Kanata, Orleans, Old Ottawa East and Sandy Hill, among many others . When asked why she decided to pursue a career in real estate, Ms. Bennett said:

"I always loved houses and had a keen eye and a true passion for them. One of my girlfriends at the time was in real estate sales, and we both had young children. So we came together as a team, working in the resale business and taking turns watching each other’s kids while our husbands were at work. By finding support in each other, our business grew and my love for the industry grew simultaneously."

As a thought-leader in her field, Ms. Bennett constantly and incessantly keeps her eye on prevailing trends within the local, national and international real estate markets—and after nearly four decades dedicated to real estate, Ms. Bennett shows no signs of slowing down. Looking to the future, she has her sights set on expanding her company's reach into the U.S., and will soon be opening up a real estate marketing and brokerage firm in the Miami area. In the coming years, Ms. Bennett anticipates continuing to grow her business while continuing to provide the industry-leading advice and expertise for which she has become known. She comments:

"I pay really careful attention to different generations of clients, and how their needs differ. Baby-boomers are the largest cohort of homebuyers right now, and they're retiring by the millions, which means they're looking for different types of housing: they're downsizing, or buying vacation properties in warmer climates, or lake cottages. 'Gen Y' is the next biggest buying cohort, and that groups tends to want smaller homes (than did the Boomers), and a 'low maintenance lifestyle'.
