M V Jayaraman College Of Engineering Celebrated Its 27th Alumni Meet On 10th May 2014
Online, May 14, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Alumni meet was conducted at 10:00 am in Smt. Rajalakshmi Seminar hall. The meet started with the traditional lighting of the lamp and an invocation song. The welcome address was given by Prof.James Kumar, Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He welcomed the audience and briefed them on the alumni activities.
Dr K S Shanmukharadhya, principal of MVJCE, welcomed the gathering. In his welcome address, he briefed the academic achievements of the institute. He also briefed about the developments that have taken place in the college such as infrastructure and also regarding the conferences, seminars and workshops that had been conducted.
Dr R Ramaprabhu, adviser of MVJCE, suggested the alumnus to set up an alumni centre inside the campus. He said that this centre will help the students of this college to scale great heights and make a mark in various fields.
Dr K Asha, Professor and Head of Civil Engineering gave a brief introduction of the honorable Chief Guest, Mr Dharmendra Singh, Global Deployment Leader Schneider Electric, Bengaluru and also felicitated him .

He encouraged the alumnae to keep their Alma Mater informed about their progress and achievements. He also said that alumnus should come forward with ideas so that they can set up their own companies and be a role model for others. He added that with networking getting jobs will be easier. The chief guest also inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Development Cell.
Around 800 alumnus along with their families had attended the meet. The air was nostalgic. It was a time and event for old relationships to be cherished and refreshed and new ones to be formed. It was time of reflecting, remembering the good old times and memories of the Alumni and looking forward with a sense of purpose and anticipation.
Nahid Kittur (ECE 2013 batch) said that MVJCE is like a family to her. The relationship between the student and the faculties is very strong. She also added that the faculties, technical and non technical staffs in the college are very patient and never hesitated in helping them during their hard times.
Ismail Kamal (ME 1988 batch) said that it was a very proud moment for him. The college had improved a lot and moved with the time. He has advised the alumni to be in pace with the current developments.
