LEAP Group Expands to Indianapolis With New Kind of Digital Marketing Agency

Indianapolis is now home to one of the Midwest's premier digital agencies, along with their latest studio expansion into social media and digital advertising.

LEAP Amp

In 2016, LEAP Group founders Daniel Knapp and Alan Gilleo partnered with Indianapolis-native and digital marketing veteran, Ryan Smith, to launch LEAP Amp. The idea was simple: Create an agency that focuses on amplifying brand stories rather than just spewing more noise into consumer’s lives. So, a new kind of partner-oriented agency was born.

Today’s digital marketing landscape requires brands to be “always-on,” and the old-school agency model simply does not account for the ever-changing and evolving world of social media and digital advertising. This requires an agency to be nimble, hyper-targeted and willing to adjust to the constantly evolving space.

“After 17 years of building and refining the digital agency structure we felt that there was a gap in how agencies addressed social and digital media for clients,” said Knapp, who serves as CEO of LEAP Group. “LEAP Amp is not just about a unique structure. It’s about a unique point of view. We don’t add to the overwhelming noise on the Internet. We create stories for brands that truly add value to their audience’s day.”

Now, almost two years later, LEAP Amp is celebrating their second anniversary by launching their new website. The site is armed with case studies, stats and collaborative work with other studios within LEAP Group, proving their prowess in the social world.

“Social and digital media are evolving every day,” said Ryan Smith, President of LEAP Amp. “We exist to capitalize on that evolution. We have one goal: To market less and matter more. Consumers, especially Millennials, don’t want to be shouted at by companies. They want to develop relationships with brands they care about, and that only happens when you know how to make real connections through content.”

LEAP Amp works with influencers, social networks, creators, and marketing technology partners every day in order to hit their goal.

And the studio has been growing fast since their launch. It’s built to work with global enterprises and has extensive enterprise experience with companies such as Kao Brands, Mercer, Heaven Hill Brands, and Texas Roadhouse. LEAP Amp also takes great pride in helping independent creative agencies amplify their work.

“The agency world has developed into massive conglomerates that push out independent shops,” said Gilleo, Chief Creative Officer for LEAP Group. “We built LEAP Amp with the goal of helping ridiculously talented creative shops broaden their capability. Some of our favorite projects involve us collaborating with creative shops across the Midwest to bring amplification and media buying into their capability set through our partnership.”

LEAP Group has now expanded into Indianapolis by opening a 2,000 sq. foot office on Massachusetts Avenue. The office is located at 409 Mass. Ave., and features 12 employees, including back from talent at LEAP Agency, LEAP Frame, as well as JUMP Agency. LEAP Amp now has $2.4 million in billing.

“We have been working with clients in the state of Indiana for years, so it’s been a natural progression expanding our business into Indianapolis. We couldn’t be happier with our new location, and plan to continue expanding our operation in 2018,” said Knapp.

LEAP Group has been open since 1999, founded by Knapp and Gilleo. Since then, the agency has grown into a network of studios: LEAP Frame, a motion graphic and video storytelling studio; LEAP Spark, an agency specializing in small to medium-sized businesses; and LEAP Agency, an agency powerhouse yielding the capabilities of each studio.
