Kemble Memorial Hosts Free Concert for Community

United Methodist Church Offers Fall Community Showcase Just Prior to Fall Festival

Woodbury, N.J.—Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church invites music lovers far and wide to attend its Fall Community Showcase, beginning at 4 p.m. this Saturday, October 7. The concert for all tastes in music will be held on the front steps of the Woodbury church, or inside in the case of inclement weather. “This concert is jam-packed with performances and has something for everyone, at any age,” shares Reverend Dr. Michael Harriott.  As the church is renowned for its historic Peragallo organ and choral music ensembles, event organizers planned this inaugural showcase event to share its numerous ministries with the neighbors in Woodbury, many who already plan to be on Broad Street later in the day for the annual Woodbury Fall Festival Parade.  Congregants and Pastor Mike, who refers to Kemble Memorial as the “church in the city with the city in its heart,” look forward to welcoming guests as they enjoy the concert, free hot dogs and other refreshments.

The Showcase event also provides the church an opportunity to introduce Kemble Memorial’s new music director, Brett Pardue, to the community.  Pardue, who’s been praised by Opera Lively as "a name to be followed," has performed at Carnegie Hall as a soloist (New York Lyric Opera) and at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He’ll sing at the Showcase event, along with a bevy of performers, including Kemble Memorial’s free Children’s Summer Music Camp participants, soprano Allison Gross, the Spiritual Five gospel group, and recording artists and jazz ensemble Zoay. As the church prepares to mark its 130th year of existence at its current location, congregants and church leadership will share more information about its ministries and outreach programs as they enjoy fellowship with those attending the Showcase. The performance schedule is provided below.
