International Association of Women Recognizes the Contributions of Nicky Dare as Santa Clarita Chapter President
Nicky Dare, Founder of iDare Inc. and DARE Education, has been successfully leading her Chapter for seven years
CHICAGO, July 9, 2019 (Newswire.com) - The International Association of Women (IAW) recognizes the contributions of Nicky Dare as Santa Clarita Chapter President. She is acknowledged as a leader in this role. The International Association of Women (IAW) is a global in-person and online networking platform with nearly one million members, 1000+ in person and virtual events, over 100 Local US-based Chapters and International Chapters in several cities in China.

Nicky Dare has been Santa Clarita Chapter President for seven years, empowering more than 500 IAW members. “I feel it is important that women should collaborate (not compete) with other professional women in all vertical industries,” she said. “Women should work together in every level and capacity of our ability. The Santa Clarita Chapter’s mantra is ‘Collaboration, Not Competition.’”
Ms. Dare is passionate about empowering women through leadership, mentoring and networking. “I know and I have seen many times that there's just so many dynamics when we put women together!” she said. “We all can come up with so many solutions together, especially when we support each other. The key word is together.”
Over the last seven years, the Santa Clarita Chapter has accomplished much and has been very involved within the community. It has helped host events with nonprofits such as Habitat for Humanity, the City of Santa Clarita and The Arthritis Foundation, and connected with women leaders and local celebrities, and partnered with other organizations. “We have hosted many highly recognized events, charity fundraisers and fashion shows that have been supported by local,” Ms. Dare said. “We are also huge supporters of our veteran community.”
Upcoming Chapter events include a networking event on July 16 at the Winery Room at Mimi’s Café. In the fall, the Chapter is planning leadership workshops and programs for members, and plan to continue these events in 2020. “Our goal is still to engage members and connect and grow together through networking programs and events,” she added.
Ms. Dare is Founder of iDare• Inc. and DARE Education. “Because of my years of volunteering with nonprofits, I wanted to run my own nonprofit and founded iDARE in 2012,” she said.
“iDARE is an acronym for integrity, diversity, adaptation, resilience and empowerment. The iDARE grassroot concept started back in 1996, after the passing of my father, who was a true humanitarian. He owned and supported several orphanages that are managed by our family.”
iDARE has helped hundreds of families and businesses with staying prepared through mitigation lectures, community workshops and services. It focuses both on natural and man-made disasters (such as active shooting preparedness).
This past Spring, Ms. Dare taught graduating students of Criminal Justice at La Sierra University, and will continue to offer teaching lectures this Fall. She has an upcoming speaking engagement with NIGP Annual Forum 2019 in Austin, Texas.
In addition to continuing her work as Santa Clarita Chapter President, Ms. Dare’s future plans include writing more books, sharing awareness about staying prepared for disasters, promoting disaster risk reduction and educating the next generation.
Her latest book, Safety and Survival – Personal Preparedness Assessment Guide, was recently released.
