Stacy Tselekis has nearly 25 years of experience in management consulting, in both the public and private sector. “Working with my first boss, I learned how to translate my strategic and analytical skills into useful skills for clients and customers,” she said. “I also learned that, as he would say ‘everything is sociology.’ Whether we were implementing an IT system, a forecasting model or maturing data analysis capabilities, everything affects people and people make everything successful.”

As she honed her skills in project management and client-relationship, Ms. Tselekis also became interested in social issues. “I grew up in a small mining town where my family owned a business and experienced first-hand how changes in highways systems, new large business entrants and decreased demand for coal, affected the health, well-being and economic standing of an entire community,” she said. Ms. Tselekis went on to pursue a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School and eventually began consulting in the public sector where she was able to use her skills to address social concerns.

For the past two years, Ms. Tselekis has held the position of Principal at Grant Thornton LLC, leading its account for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. “I am responsible for driving a vision where Grant Thornton can provide high impact and high value to our clients so that they may benefit America's Veterans,” she said. Skilled at anticipating and assessing dynamics, how they work and how best to address them, Ms. Tselekis uses her expertise and leadership qualities to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues, to help solve their problems.

“It is most rewarding to truly be able to help a client, a team or an employee to succeed,” she said. “I enjoy creative problem solving and it can be challenging.” As she works toward her ultimate long-term/retirement goal of teaching and writing, Ms. Tselekis will strive to increase her leadership skills and attain a role where she has higher strategic organizational impact. “I also hope to volunteer with an organization that provides more direct social impact,” she added.
