Samantha Ruth, Psychotherapist and Founder/President of Never Give Up

Samantha M. Ruth, MA LLP knew at a very early age she would become a psychotherapist. She started her career working with teens and their families in a residential setting. Upon encouragement from her supervisors, she began speaking at community outreach events, as well. This led Ms. Ruth to a decade of success working in both clinical and educational settings throughout Wayne County, Michigan.

Well known for her creation of an adolescent intensive outpatient program for substance abuse, Ms. Ruth also continued her speaking engagements throughout the community. The success of her outpatient program resulted in several additional groups, such as eating disorders and loss/grief. From here, she opened her own practice where she added couples work to her services and became trained in EFT.

And then, Ms. Ruth reunited with the man who got away. They eventually married and she moved from Michigan to Colorado to begin their life together. Samantha struggled to find her professional way. “It was a very difficult professional transition,” Ms. Ruth said. “My husband encouraged me to pursue my dreams....and Never Give Up, where I provide online counseling to individuals, families and groups, was born.” Sadly, Ms. Ruth’s husband passed away unexpectedly in 2017, but she continues to be inspired by him. “Losing him has led me to broaden my services and help as many people as possible,” she added.

At Never Give Up, Ms. Ruth also offers online and in person trainings/courses and workshops on a variety of issues, such as living with anxiety, overcoming adversity, and being the happiest, most successful version of oneself. In her role as a Psychotherapist, she uses the skills she has honed throughout her career, including communicating and listening to others, being trustworthy and authentic, and collaborating with clients to solve problems and find solutions. She is rewarded when she hears about her clients’ successes.

As she continues to work tirelessly to help others, Ms. Ruth strives to find a larger audience. She is currently writing a book and is pursuing her certification as a Trainer with Jack Canfield, motivational speaker, corporate trainer and author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
