“My mother taught me to be economically independent and my father inspired me to be an entrepreneur,” Katherine Fry, President/CEO of Mediafy Communications Group, said.

After college, Ms. Fry worked for several years at a small advertising company, where she gained much insight into the industry. Then her love of history, which was fueled by a fascinating family connection—Ms. Fry is the 13th great granddaughter of Henry VIII and Mary Boleyn—brought her to London, where she lived and worked as a Series 3 licensed broker. During both of those professional experiences, she honed her skills in finance, sales, copywriting and management.

Ms. Fry eventually returned to the United States and founded Mediafy Communications Group. Based in Chattanooga, TN, the marketing and advertising agency specializes in broadcast media, digital and social media, public relations, branding, marketing, and website development. “I set up all the different departments in my company and then hired a manager to manage them,” Ms. Fry said. “My skills allowed me to do this.”

Although there were challenges she faced as she strived to become an effective leader, Ms. Fry has been rewarded by her ability to ultimately create a transformational and nurturing work environment for her employees. “I truly believe that if you take care of your employees they will take care of your clients,” she added. Ms. Fry’s future professional goals include continuing to grow her company both nationally and internationally as she expands into new areas of digital marketing.
