Since 2015, Delora Harbin has been helping to bring smiles to people’s faces, and she does it by using balloons.

A Certified Balloon Artist, Ms. Harbin is the Owner of Funtastic Balloon Creations. Located in Grain Valley, MO, the company provides unique balloon creations and décor for individuals, parties and corporate events in Kansas City and surrounding areas. She credits her husband with getting her started in the business.

“My husband took me to a balloon training class, and I fell in love with creating balloon décor,” she said. “For several years, I watched my husband Randy create animals of all kinds, crowns, wands and many other creations requested by children when he attended line work events. Then together we started creating larger balloon creations.”

As Owner of Funtastic Balloon Creations, Ms. Harbin is responsible for every aspect of the business, including accounts payable and receivable, store management, bookkeeping, balloon event planning, balloon event building, buying, selling, customer service, and networking. “I have 30 years of retail/customer service experience with corporate businesses,” she said. “I use my customer service skills and my retail knowledge to grow my business through meeting others, and I utilize my storefront in meeting new people.”

Rewarded when she sees the smiles on people’s faces when they receive balloon bouquets and creations, Ms. Harbin hopes to grow her already successful business by hiring more employees, enlarging her warehouse and expanding her storefront location so she can offer her creative services to even more people. “My future goals are to continue to grow my business overall and network with like-minded individuals,” she added.
