It occurred to me this profession was growing at an excelled rate and would allow me to continue to grow in the field of sympathy, compassion and caring for others while using the skills I was mentored to use for many years.

When she was injured at her job at Stanford Medical Center, where she had worked for 12 years, Danee Roberts researched new careers and decided upon becoming a Licensed Medical Aesthetician. “It occurred to me this profession was growing at an excelled rate and would allow me to continue to grow in the field of sympathy, compassion and caring for others while using the skills I was mentored to use for many years,” she said.

Now in the industry for 17 years, Ms. Roberts and her husband opened The Signature Beauty Box in 2015 in Gilbert, AZ. She provides medical aesthetic treatments, including skin resurfacing, skin tightening, body contouring, fat reduction, facials, chemical peels, micro-needling, PRP, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, photo facials, permanent cosmetics, professional skin care consultations, and treatment plans.”

In addition to running the day-to-day operations of the business, Ms. Roberts leads a team of professionals, mentoring and training new Aestheticians, and uses her own skills as a Licensed Medical Aesthetician, Certified Laser Technician, Certified Laser Safety Officer and Certified Permanent Cosmetic Artist as she prescribes and performs treatments. She is continually inspired by her mentor at Stanford Medical Center. “She worked very hard to make everything work while still having sympathy and compassion for everyone around her, including patients, families, and colleagues,” Ms. Roberts said.

Although it can be challenging managing clients’ expectations, Ms. Roberts is rewarded when clients are happy with the results they worked so hard to achieve together. “My future goal is to continue growth while adding more employees to satisfy more clients and patients alike while keeping my ratings in good standing,” she added. “I hope to have more time to build the business as I am able to give responsibilities to trusted colleagues.”
