International Association of Women Recognizes Christine Allen as a 2019-2020 Influencer
Christine Allen, Tax Accountant and Co-Owner at Allen Gilbert & Associates LLC, joins networking organization
Chicago, April 3, 2019 (Newswire.com) - The International Association of Women (IAW) recognizes Christine Allen as a 2019-2020 Influencer. She is acknowledged as a leader in accounting and entrepreneurship. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2006, Christine Allen began her career as a Staff Accountant. “I first started working for a CPA,” she said. “Then, I wanted to be home with my two children, so I left and started my own part-time business so I could work from home around my kids’ schedules.”
Taking the skills she honed during her tenure at Shelley R. Wirkkala Inc., Mrs. Allen founded Allen Gilbert & Associates LLC in 2012 with her business partner, Carmin Sawyer. As Co-Owner and Tax Accountant, Mrs. Allen has myriad responsibilities. “I manage annual income tax return preparation for multiple clients, monthly bookkeeping work for several clients, process payroll for one client, process payroll tax reports for multiple clients and handle the processing of monthly, quarterly and annual excise reports for several clients,” she said. “I also provide expert tax advice to multiple clients.”
Mrs. Allen, who went on to earn her Master’s degree in accounting in 2017, added, “The constant change in tax law can be challenging but the most rewarding part of my career is knowing I am helping my clients get their annual financials in order and making goals to profit in the future and save on their annual tax returns.” As for her future plans, she hopes to either obtain her CPA license or become an enrolled agent with the IRS.
