“I’m pleased to welcome Ashanti into this exceptional group of professional women,” said IPDN President and IAW Spokesperson Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”

I am very good at public speaking, and I'm not shy in front of the camera. I am also an excellent networker. I am not afraid to speak to anyone.

Ashanti Middleton said it was her younger brother David Bynoe who first got her interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. “I developed a passion for this industry many years ago when my little brother began his acting career,” she said. “Going with him to different auditions and shoots sparked an interest in the entertainment industry. David is my true inspiration. I've seen him grow from small parts in front of the camera, to now producing and shooting for big-time production companies.”

Proud to follow in his footsteps, Ms. Middleton is the Host and Creator of Taste & Toast with Ashanti Middleton, a food and drink review channel she promotes through her websiteYouTube channel and Instagram. “My responsibilities are to host the show, communicate with the restaurants, conceptualize each episode and to continue to try to get the show to the public,” she said. To accomplish all of this, Ms. Middleton uses her expert skills as a communicator and networker. “I am very good at public speaking, and I'm not shy in front of the camera,” she said. “That's a skill that is needed in creating the show. I am also an excellent networker. I am not afraid to speak to anyone.”

Although her career choice can be challenging since this is a self-financed project, Ms. Middleton is rewarded by her ability to help promote restaurants to the public. “I also love trying new food and drinks on each episode,” she added. “My future goals are to get picked up by a major network or platform, and to be able to profile restaurants, bars and lounges all over the world.”
