After becoming interested in aerobics and then nutrition as a teenager, Annette Presley was inspired to become a Registered Dietician 26 years ago. “I faithfully taught the low fat, food guide pyramid diet for 14 years before discovering that I pretty much had a license to kill as the advice I was supposed to give out was actually contributing to chronic disease and obesity,” she said. “I changed what I taught to reflect the science.”

Although she faced some skeptics in the healthcare industry who questioned her views, Ms. Presley persevered, motivated by her passion to educate the public and other healthcare professionals. One year ago, Ms. Presley started her own company, No BS Wellness, where she shares her unique knowledge of approaching nutrition and health more holistically. “I use my skills to help clients navigate through all the conflicting nutrition information to find the truth,” she said. “I provide easy action steps they can take to achieve, maintain and sustain good health.”

Ms. Presley is proud of her ability to help others live a healthier lifestyle and attain their health goals. She counts among her successes her ability to help a woman get pregnant after years of trying unsuccessfully; prevent a hysterectomy; and help a teenager beat social anxiety disorder without drugs. “I love helping people get the results they want without negative side effects,” she added.

In addition to soon launching a membership site where she’ll provide relevant information and news about more holistic ways to stay healthy, Ms. Presley will soon publish her book The Switch Diet and develop an online course for it. Her future plans also include online group coaching programs, master classes and local workshops.
