Sports Inc. 2000 Hosts Food Drive for NJ's Center for Food Action

Giving back to the community is one of Sports Inc. 2000's core company values. Starting on Monday, July 27, the firm's team will be hosting an ongoing food drive to benefit the Center for Food Action (CFA) in New Jersey.

0“In a country with such wealth, hunger should not be an issue for anyone,” said Paul M., Sports Inc. 2000’s president. “We believe strongly in having an impact on our community. There’s no better way to do so than to make sure people have food on their tables. We’re incredibly proud to partner with the CFA.”

Paul described the CFA’s mission. “This organization originally started out as a global charity, but they quickly realized the need was great right here in the local community,” he said. “Charity begins at home. These are our neighbors. They need our help and support.”

Headquartered in Englewood, New Jersey, CFA has grown over the last several decades to support hundreds of thousands of the state’s residents in need. In 1980, the organization established the Statewide Emergency Food and Anti-Hunger Network (SEFAN) to end hunger in New Jersey. Today, this group is the NJ Anti-Hunger Coalition (NJAHC) and they are committed to training and providing technical assistance to soup kitchens, food pantries, and other emergency food providers throughout the garden state. Over 900 organizations are part of the network.

CFA locations, which include sites in Bergen and Passaic counties, distribute emergency food packets throughout year, as well as Thanksgiving meals. “Too often, people only think of the needy around the holidays,” noted Paul. “The need is tremendous year round, which is why Sports Inc. 2000’s team has chosen to make this an ongoing effort.”

Sports Inc. 2000 Team Uses Goal-Setting Skills to Address Hunger

As Paul noted, Sports Inc. 2000’s team is planning to make this an ongoing food drive. “We’ve approached this initiative the same way we would any other campaign,” he shared. “We want this to be successful. Therefore, we’ve set specific goals for how much food we would like to collect. We’ll track our results and celebrate our milestone victories.”

Paul reported that each week the team will transport collections directly to the Englewood location. “We don’t just want our team members to bring in canned or dried goods,” he noted. “We want them to know who they’re delivering to and form connections from there. We want them to understand the impact of what this drive is supporting.”

“We’re ready to make this drive spectacular in the same way we’re ready to ensure the success of any campaign,” he said. “No one should face hunger in this country. We are ready to contribute to the eradication of hunger in our community.”
