Gregory J. Pepe Presents on ERISA: The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974
NEW HAVEN, Conn., December 6, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Gregory J. Pepe, founding principal with the law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. recently presented, “What’s ERISA All About Anyway?” at the American Society of Medical Association Counsel (ASMAC) fall conference.
In his presentation, Attorney Pepe began with an overview of ERISA, a federal statute governing employee benefit programs. Enacted in 1974 after years of congressional debate, it was originally supposed to regulate retirement programs. He noted that most of the litigation in recent years has been centered on the application of this law to health benefit programs. Attorney Pepe’s presentation provided the essential elements of ERISA for those who do not deal with it frequently, but for whom knowledge of ERISA is important.
Attorney Pepe heads the Healthcare Law, Corporate & Business Transactions, and Alternative Dispute Resolution & Mediation practice groups.
