Fr. Mark Stang, as Told to Carol Sanders' New Book Finding the Water is a Touching Tale of a Young Man's Faith-Driven Journey Amid Toils in Life

Recent release "Finding the Water" from Covenant Books authors Fr. Mark Stang, as told to Carol Sanders is an emotionally driven story of a young man's spiritual resilience amid his life's storms.

Fr. Mark Stang is a chaplain at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota and Carol Sanders is a retired English teacher and a former parishioner of Father Mark at St. Donatus Church in Brooten, Minnesota. They have completed their new book, Finding the Water: a stirring read on Mark Stang, a young man called by God to become a priest despite his ailment and low self-esteem.

Stang and Sanders share, “Mark Stang was raised in a loving family but struggled in school and suffered low self-esteem. His reaction was to feel that he needed to be the best in order to be accepted. As a young man, he was on his way to becoming a farmer when he felt a ‘tug’ to do more. He decided to enter the seminary, which meant giving up his dream. He continued to struggle with a sense of inadequacy, feeling like a fish out of the water. He eventually learned that surrendering to God—who loves him beyond his knowledge—is the way to find the water, only to be diagnosed with cancer a year before his ordination to the priesthood. His inspiring journey, including more than one supernatural event, shows us the power in surrendering to God.”
