With more than 17 years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Kesari brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry and, in particular, to his area of expertise, neurology and neuro-oncology. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Kesari said:

"My father was a physician, he was a family doctor and was the primary motivation for my interest in pursuing a career in medicine."

Since completing his training, Dr. Kesari has committed his career to helping patients with brain cancer through his practice and his research. Dr. Kesari began his career in Boston, where he was both an Attending Physician at the Brigham & Women's Hospital as well as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and taught as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. In 2009, he moved to Southern California and began practicing with the UC San Diego Medical Center and Providence Saint John’s Health Center. He also served as a Professor of Neurosciences at UC San Diego until 2015.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kesari’s research efforts have focused on cancer stem cells, their role in the formation of brain tumors and their resistance to treatment. His primary goal remains the advancement of neurological medicine by developing targeted drugs to eradicate brain tumors. As a researcher, he has more than 300 publications, including original articles, reviews, editorials, books, and clinical communications. He also has patented dozens of innovative treatments and he works closely with prominent companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries to bring those patents to reality. Additionally, Dr. Kesari sits on the Editorial Board or is an Ad-hoc Reviewer for numerous prominent medical journals in his specialty, including the Nature Scientific Reports and Journal of Translational Medicine.
