Sugar Land, TX, January 26, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Dr. Sandra Templeton, Oncologist, Founder & Director, Templeton Breast Care, has joined The Expert Network, an invitation only service for distinguished professionals. Templeton has been chosen as a Distinguished Doctor™ based on peer reviews and ratings, numerous recognitions, and accomplishments achieved throughout her career.
Dr. Templeton outshines others in her field due to her extensive educational background, recognitions, and dedication to her patients. She received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1994, subsequently completing her residency in General Surgery in 2001. After completing her education, she went on to become an associate professor at her alma mater. Today, she is the director of Templeton Breast Care in Sugar Land, Texas and is affiliated with several hospitals throughout the greater Houston area. Dr. Templeton is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons for over a decade.
With over twenty years dedicated to medicine, Templeton brings a wealth of knowledge to her industry and, in particular, to her area of expertise in breast cancer treatment. When asked what brings meaning to her work, Templeton said:
"My favorite thing is taking care of women year after year, after they've completed all their chemotherapy, and seeing them in the future, enjoying their lives."
As a thought-leader in her industry, Dr. Templeton is an avid learner and focuses highly on the future of breast cancer treatment. In particular, she has a keen interest in the rapidly evolving trends in breat cancer treatment over the past two decades. She noted:
"Breast cancer treatment is very different from what it was twenty years ago when it was a more surgical approach. Today, it is becoming more multi-disciplinary, which means that there are a lot of people that must be involved in the care of a patient. I think mammograms are still a very important tool, but if you look at the data, it is controversial as to whether mammograms save lives. This is because our current treatments are more effective than twenty years ago."
Dr. Templeton has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named Castle Connolly’s Top Doctor three years in a row. Her patients' success stories have been featured in numerous local publications.
