Bonner Springs Ford Celebrates Survivors with Ford Warriors in Pink Models of Courage

Online, June 1, 2012 (Newswire.com) - For 18 years, Ford Warriors in Pink has worked to raise awareness of breast cancer. Through their line of Warriors in Pink merchandise sold at www.fordcares.com, they have encouraged people to wear or display their support of people fighting the disease, while donating 100% of net proceeds from sales to breast cancer charities. While the efforts extend beyond fundraising, Ford has currently donated more than $115 million to the cause.

Ford Warriors in Pink launched a new campaign for 2012 that highlights the stories of survivors as Models of Courage. Eleven women and men were selected as the faces of the Models of Courage, telling their stories to inspire people to continue the fight against breast cancer. They will also serve as the models for the 2012 line of Warriors in Pink gear.

This year, shoppers on www.fordcares.com will be able to designate one of four charities they would like their donation to support. Eligible organizations include Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, both of which support and fund the research into care, cures, and prevention. Also included are The Pink Fund and the Young Survival Coalition, which provide immediate financial assistance and support and education to those diagnosed with the disease.
