One of the biggest effects of my life was the night of the Tet Offensive in Vietnam in 1968. At 4:00 a.m., our bomb dump blew up, and our fuel cell, with fuel for three squadrons of aircraft, blew up. Our perimeter was breached. I thought I was going to check out. I made a promise to the good Lord that I would be a productive member of society. He has been a big part of every decision I have made. I know that the day comes. I don't meet His standard or requirements. He will dial up my number.
