Arkansas Pet Photographer Wins Awards for Outstanding Pet Photography

Benton, Arkansas, October 16, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Local professional photographer Abby Ziemer Malone, an honored member of the Arkansas Professional Photographers Association (APPA)  recently submitted images to the Capture 2017 / Bedfords Expo, the annual APPA state convention & print competition held in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Malone earned awards for two of her prints submitted. 

The winning photograph entitled, “Faithfully Waiting”, featuring a portrait of a Rottweiler, received the honor of a Judges Choice Ribbon and First Place in the General Division Portrait Category.  

Malone has been capturing the personality of pets for their owners since 2012. She notes some of her greatest accomplishments come from creating award winning images of pets during the course of a normal pet portrait session.

Malone's other winning entry, titled "Ouroboros", featured an artistic representation of a snake and received the honor of distinguished print. 

The official Arkansas chapter image competition is held each year at the APPA state convention where prints are judged by a panel comprised of top professional photographers from all over the United States.  The awards are chosen by a panel of qualified judges through rigorous judging criteria... the same criteria used by the Professional Photographers of America that includes 10 elements from which judges draw from to determine an images scoring.

Arkansas Professional Photographers Association is the state affiliate for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).  The purpose of the APPA is the continual advancement of all phases of professional photography as an art and as a vocation through the cooperative efforts of its members.  

Malone has served the Central Arkansas are with quality pet portraits since 2012, and her work has been featured all over the world.  Malone notes some of her greatest accomplishments come from creating award winning images of her client's beloved pets during the course of a normal portrait commission.  "I don't set out to shoot images just for competition...these images were first and foremost to capture the personality and essence of the animal for the owner," Malone said.
