Hastings & Hastings Applauds the Arizona Cardinal's Hiring of a Female Coach
Phoenix, September 7, 2015 (Newswire.com) - On Monday July 27th the Arizona Cardinals announced their hiring of 37-year-old former pro football player Jen Welter. Jen Welter broke a glass ceiling that some people thought may never be broken. Her resume more than spoke for itself. Dr. Welter spent 14 years playing pro football in the Women’s Football alliance. This is following an already storied career as a collegiate rugby player. Welter’s academic accomplishments are equally impressive. She holds a master’s degree in sports psychology and a doctorate in psychology. Qualifications that far outshine those of many of her male counterparts.
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians spoke to the media saying, “Coaching is nothing more than teaching. One thing I have learned from players is, ‘How are you going to make me better? If you can make me better, I don’t care if you’re the Green Hornet, man, I’ll listen.’ I really believe she’ll have a great opportunity with this internship through training camp to open some doors for her.”
