Financial strategist and CFO consultant, Anthony Nitsos will present a complimentary intensive workshop for entrepreneurs in Ann Arbor on Saturday morning, November 8. The experienced financial professional who heads Ascendeus is a speaker and trainer as well as a financing and accounting expert.

Nitsos, who holds master’s degrees in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and Finance from the University of St. Andrew’s, Scotland, will share his expert advice with business owners at the free seminar.

The tools and techniques he will teach at the free seminar in the Bank of Ann Arbor at 801 Ellsworth Road from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon will enable attendees to accelerate their business cash flow and start profiting immediately. He also will share information on how to decrease costs and improve profits before the New Year.

“Cash is king,” Nitsos said, noting many entrepreneurs usually add, “I wish I wore the crown.” The experienced professional combines all aspects of a business into a holistic approach to root cause problem solving. “In this workshop you will learn to manage your cash flow, not the other way around,” Nitsos said.

He also will cover making meaningful financial statements that matter to a business owner. “Most often companies have a profit and loss statement that only a tax accountant could love and a balance sheet that means nothing to the owner,” Nitsos said.

Other topics he will cover include “Revving Your Sales Engine,” “The Tax Man Cometh, Are You Ready?” and “Keeping Score” to learn how to create easy-to-manage score cards to monitor fiscal fitness and accelerate cash.

In covering tax issues, Nitsos will show entrepreneurs how to minimize the amount a company has to pay and comply with the important rules. “It takes some discipline and a good checklist,” Nitsos said. “Not only can you pay less, if you do end up being audited, you will be ready.”

The financial guru, who also leads yoga classes and plays the cello when he isn’t working, also will discuss risk factors for businesses that seem to be running well until something unexpected happens, such as a lawsuit by a customer, a trusted employee stealing assets, a fire or flood that drives them into bankruptcy.

“While these nightmares are fortunately rare, they still happen,” he said. “There are a few things business owners can do and the secret is that it’s not about buying more insurance.”

With more than 25 years of experience in the field and a host of academic and professional credentials to his credit, Nitsos is known as a “doer who can teach” and takes complex issues and boils them down to what matters the most.

The Michigan native first trained in biomedicine and holds a degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Michigan. He has spent his career working in manufacturing and the information and digital technology industries. He joined Ascendeus in 2006 and has successfully led many owners to live free of worries and anxieties caused by the financial side of their businesses.

Nitsos also is trained in Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, ISO and QS certification and Six Sigma Black Belt Quality Improvement.

In addition to academic achievements, he has directed cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, and has lived and travelled extensively throughout the world and knows Japanese, French, Mandarin Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese.
