La Casa Del Zorro Resort & Spa Appoints USPTA Elite and USTPR P-One Tennis Pro

With a focus on fitness, seasoned expert Mike Rogers will lead free guest activities, private and group lessons, analytical sessions and more

Tennis expert Mike Rogers has been appointed resident pro at La Casa del Zorro Resort & Spa. Rogers will leverage his United States Professional Tennis Association (USTPA) Elite and United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) P-One certifications to ensure guests and day visitors alike can perfect their serves, backhands and more while working toward wellness at the plush Borrego Springs getaway.

Rogers studied under tennis great Vic Braden at his Orange County academy, then traveled with Braden for more than 20 years to teach throughout Europe and the U.S. He also honed his skills with acclaimed tennis player Harry Hopman and earned a Tennis Teaching Diploma at Tennis Tech in Tyler, Texas. Rogers’ decades of experience and multiple certifications position him to help novice and advanced players alike stay fit and improve their game during their stay at La Casa del Zorro and beyond.

“Given La Casa del Zorro’s focus on offering a high-end, comprehensive wellness experience, we are thrilled to have Mike on our team,” says Patrick Sampson, the resort’s general manager. “We can’t wait to see our beautiful courts become all the more used and loved and watch our guests reap the benefits of a great tennis workout with expert guidance.”

Rogers’ new tennis program will benefit overnight guests as well as those who take advantage of the resort’s six tennis courts as part of their day-use Club La Casa membership. Adults and juniors have the opportunity to partake in group and private lessons, while adults can call upon Rogers for focused hitting sessions or a one-hour video analysis of their skills. Kids tennis camps, corporate events and cardio tennis courses are also available. Finally, exclusively offered to visitors staying for a night or more, Rogers will host a complimentary “Tennis Round Robin” from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday evenings and free stroke evaluations by appointment. Equipment is provided as a courtesy during both of these sessions. To schedule a lesson with Rogers, call or text 858-361-1135 or email mrogerstennis@gmail.com.
