A Mother's Haven Hosts Infant CPR Training at Hope Gardens Family Center
Local businesses, A Mother's Haven and Save A Little Life, volunteered at Hope Gardens Family Center's "Day of Service" by hosting Infant CPR class.
Woodland Hills, CA, May 27, 2015 (Newswire.com) - On May 11th, Hope Gardens Family Center was visited by two local businesses, A Mother’s Haven and Save A Little Life, who volunteered during their “Day of Service,” by donating various baby supplies and hosting an infant CPR class.
Bianca Borne, the owner of A Mother’s Haven, met personally with the women living at the center when she delivered diapers, baby clothes, and other essential babies supplies. Her store, A Mother’s Haven, is a education and baby boutique located in Encino, California. They offer numerous classes on prenatal and infant education. One of the most popular classes they host is a hands-on, Infant CPR training course taught by Save A Little Life.
Back in April, Bianca held a spring cleaning event to collect new and gently used items to donate to Hope Gardens Family Center. As customers dropped off items she thought about going one step beyond by holding an infant CPR training course for the mothers at HGFC. Bianca saw this opportunity to be as beneficial as the products she was providing, so she asked her AMH instructor, Richard Pass, RN,BS, owner and program director at Save A Little Life, to join her and give a free personal class during their “Day of Service.”
Bianca arrived to HGFC with a SUV full of donations for the families on site to enjoy. What she didn’t expect was over a dozen mothers eagerly awaiting to attend the free CPR class she was co-sponsoring. Richard Pass, of Save A Little Life, believes in the importance of child safety and wanted to open the class to everyone at the center. Throughout the two hour course, the instructor gave insightful tips on CPR for infants, kids and adults. One attendee was thrilled when they went above and beyond by explaining how to properly use a defibrillator. The day was a success and the everyone left knowing how to save a life.
Hope Gardens Family Center is a part of the Union Rescue Mission, the largest and oldest nonprofit, who are dedicated to supporting those living on skid row, in Los Angeles. The center are located in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest, offers a transitional living place for mothers, children, and single women in need of help.
