World Parkinson's Program Announces Names of Recipients of the Dr.Rana International Parkinson's Community Service Award

April 11. Like every year, the World Parkinson’s Program announced the names of recipients of the Dr. Rana International Parkinson’s Community Service Award 2015 on April 11, 2016. Every year the Executive Committee of World Parkinson's Program honours up to three outstanding individuals from all over the world who are committed to improving lives of those affected with Parkinson’s disease. By recognizing these individuals who inspire others, World Parkinson's Program's dedication for community service continues through the work of others.

For the year of 2015, announced on April 11, 2016, this prestigious award has been given to Dr. Kelly D. Foote, a neurosurgeon and professor of neurosurgery from the University of Florida, Dr. Karen Jaffe, a retired Physician, and Parkinson’s activist from Cleveland Heights, Ohio and to Gwyn M. Vernon, a nurse practitioner from Pennsylvania, USA.  These motivated and inspiring role models have great passion to improve the lives of those affected with Parkinson’s. Dr. Rana International Parkinson’s Community Service Award is given up to only three individuals around the world every year and is considered one of the most prestigious awards which has been so far given to 22 people around the world. Every year in January nominations for this award are invited from all over the world and results of award recipients are announced on April 11. This is the only global award which recognizes the extraordinary contribution of recipients toward the cause of Parkinson’s disease and service towards Parkinson’s community.
