Will Tall Betsy Haunt Cleveland, Tennessee This Halloween?
Cleveland, Tennessee, October 25, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Everyone is wondering if Cleveland, Tennessee's infamous goblin, Tall Betsy, will be haunting the annual Halloween Block Party, or other areas of town, this year. Who knows?
J. Bailey Jones, Director of Buy Here Pay Here U.S.A., will be at the Fort Hill Cemetery today, October 25, to shed some light on the rumors. Mr. Jones will be talking with News Channel 9’s Sarah Jennings about the possibility of a Tall Betsy appearance. The interview will air on Thursday, October 27.
Tall Betsy, the official goblin of Cleveland, is a towering 7 feet, 6 ½ inches tall. With her persimmon tree walking cane she is an intimidating presence. She resides at Fort Hill Cemetery, the site of this week’s interview. She has been known to haunt block parties and other areas of Cleveland in the past, to make sure trick-or-treaters are in bed by 10 p.m., but it’s never certain when or where Tall Betsy will roam. Up until a few years ago Tall Betsy was not seen for 10 years.
