UK Wind Map Released
MS1 Energy release a new wind map of the UK, with fine resolution, high contrast and clear key bands.
Online, December 26, 2010 (Newswire.com) - MS1 Energy are proud to announce the release of a new high resolution wind map of the United Kingdom.
The new map displays the Annual Mean Wind Speed at 45m above ground level and is based on the UK Wind Database. It has a 1km resolution, much finer than existing maps, and mean wind speeds are split into 0.5 m/s bands. This compares favourably to existing maps which have 1 m/s bands. The map features high contrast colours for clarity.
The map is released under the Creative Commons cc by-nc-nd license, allowing others to download and share the map as long as MS1 Energy are credited and there are no changes and it is not used commercially.
MS1 Energy welcomes enquiries from landowners in the UK who are willing to explore wind turbine installation options.
